Passports from different countries vary in the location of the NFC chip and phone models also differ in the location of the NFC antenna. This means that there are many possible reading positions, but only one that will work. Below we show the most common positions for American passports. Guidelines for the scanning:

1. Put the document on a table or similar and keep it stable while scanning
2. When you have found a position that works, and the phone starts to read from the chip, then keep the phone still until reading has completed.
