Signing up for Svipe iD.

To register a Svipe iD you need to have a valid government issued id such as a passport, national id or a residence card, with the “chip inside” symbol. Such documents are issued by more than 130 countries globally and we support all of them. Please look here for more information about supported cards.
No. Svipe iD requires a mobile phone since we use many of the hardware features of a mobile phone for registration as well as secure storage of your information
Svipe iD is available on iOS 14.4 and newer on iPhone 7 and newer. Android version X with phones that have NFC support

No. The document needs to be valid.
Yes, we verify the content of the document cryptographically and also control that is has not been reported lost or stolen, when such services exist for the country where the document is issued.
We use it as an extra security for you to regain access to your Svipe iD in case you lose all your identity documents and phones
Please check that you have entered the email address correctly. Also check your spam or junkmail folder as it may have ended up there
The code in the email expires after 5 minutes so you need to request another confirmation email

Using a Svipe iD.

You can only have one Svipe iD
You can have multiple devices with the same Svipe iD installed
You currently need to register again on the new phone, but don’t worry, you will be assigned the same Svipe iD
If you use the same document to register again, you will get your old Svipe iD

Data Sharing and Privacy.

We don’t collect any personal data that is stored in your document, we only verify it cryptographically and check your document with available services for documents that are reported stolen or lost. We erase your personal data from our servers within 24 hours of your registration. The only personal data that we store in clear is your email, which is necessary if we need to get in contact with you for account recovery, and your phone number if choose to have it verified.
The full content of your documents is stored in your phone in an encrypted storage that is protected by your phones device security, i.e. pin code, fingerprint or face id depending on your phone model
We don’t share your data with anyone, but we allow you to share your data when you use your Svipe iD. All sharing is explicitly controlled by you and you have to actively approve it.
You can either delete your account directly from within the app or email us and we’ll be happy to delete your Svipe iD and any related personal data (currently email) that we store.
